Spring season got started on Monday 2/15/2021 when Varsity took on Deerfield Beach at Lightning Field. Jose Toledano got the start on the bump for the lightning and he went 5 Innings with 11 Strikeouts and getting his 1st win of the season. Jeremy Hernandez came in to finish the last 2 innings with 3 strikeouts of his own.
Varsity Offense was lead by key hits through out the lineup. Jesus Vanegas went 2 for 3 with a HR, 2 RBI's and 2 runs. Moses Lopez also belted his first HR of the season while going 1 for 2 with 3 RBI's on that blast. Rocco Nappi lit the fire in the 5th with a blast to right center getting his first triple of the year and scoring on a throwing error to third.
Varsity earned the 10-2 to Victory in the only game of the week.

Junior Varsity also got start this week by hosting a doubleheader on Saturday 2/20/2021 against Archbishop McCarthy.
Game 1: Ian Guevara got the start and he went 3 Innings with 6 strike outs earning his 1st victory of the season. Pablo Rodriguez came in to finish off game 1 with 2 innings pitched with 3 strike outs. Boys won game 1 with a score of 9-3.
Game 2: Eduardo Urdaneta got the start on the mound. He went 2 innings with 3 strikeouts. Eddie also earned his 1st win of the year. After Eddie JV went with a new pitcher each inning providing a different look to Archbishop McCarthy. Jake Sasse, Thomas Graziano, Justin Siegel, and Ethan Fiengold combined for 4 innings of work with 4 strikeouts and providing the JV team with their second victory of the day with a 7-6 final score.
JV offense was key to our success this weekend with key hits throughout both games. As a team we had 13 hits, 3 were doubles, and 1 was a HR. Key performances include Jesus Rodriguez who hit his 1st HR of the season . He went 3 for 4 with 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 SB and 3 RBI's. Jack Goldberg also had a very productive day. He went 4 for 4 with 3 singles, 1 2B, 4 SB's, and 5 runs.

We are very excited for the future of these very talented young men. Thank you to all family, friends, and fans who came out to support our Lightning Baseball Program. We will see you all very soon and we get ready for week 2 of the season.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) has come to town and has put a stop in our season but not before we traveled to Western on Friday the 13th to take on the Wildcats. We had an excellent pitching performance by Senior Xavier Medina who dealt for 6 IP with 7 strikeouts. The Offense was led by Junior Juan Correa who had 7 RBI's while going 3-4 with 2 homeruns. Lightning took the lead early and never looked back winning the final game before the suspension of the season with a score of 11-2. Our players are waiting to see if we will play again, so please stay tuned because we will be back!!! Go Lightning Baseball!!

Boys in Blue start off the season with a Win over Deerfield Beach Bucks with a score of 4-0. Jake Isenman gets the win with a scoreless 5 innings of work. He had 4 K's and only gave up 2 hits. Xavier Medina Came in to close the game with 2 scoreless innings with 3 K's of his own. Big defensive showcase by CF Cesar Franco who earned two outfield assists in the game ensuring the Lightning came out with the Win!! Go Lightning Baseball. We play next week in our home opener on 2/24/2020 vs Boyd A Anderson. Come out and support the team!
